There’s something happening at Florapark!
The Altona District Office plans to begin a major renovation of Florapark’s outdoor facilities in 2026. As part of the redesign, participatory initiatives will be organized to involve users, residents, and other relevant stakeholders at an early stage and to jointly develop a needs-based and sustainable vision for the park.
At Florapark, people spray paint, climb, play, party – and much more. Surrounding the former bunker, the park and its various uses reveal different facets at different times of the day and night. In light of the major renovation, we’re now asking: What happens in the park? Who uses it, and how? What or who is currently missing from the park? What works well, and what doesn’t?
As a first step, participants took a walk together to gather and discuss needs and ideas for redesigning the recreational, play, pathway, and sports areas. Based on this, preliminary designs will be discussed in the spring of 2026. Until then, the Altona District Office is accepting questions and requests: mitspielen@altona.hamburg.de
UVM is designing and facilitating the participatory process. Through a careful examination of the existing conditions and the people who already use the park, a collaborative spatial proposal is emerging for the comprehensive renovation of Florapark.
