Park Fiction Komitee

Following on from the Park Fiction Committee‘s so called Wunschproduktion (“wish production”) entitled ‘Stretching Your Feet into the Elbe’, we are working with projektbüro and Prof. Antje Stokman to develop a collaborative process for ‘Qualifizierung der Hafenkante zwischen Fischmarkt und Landungsbrücken’ (“qualifying the waterfront“). In several stages, the aim is to develop ‘a counterpart to Antonipark, a gap closure in the Elbe landscape axis’ in collaboration with residents, initiatives and local businesses, as well as representatives from administration and politics.

In stage 1, the 600 meters of waterfront were carefully examined using mapping and interviews. Who and what is already there? How is the space used? What plans already exist? And what is the history of the space?

In the summer of 2024, things got concrete: the shoreline was put to the test in 1:1 situations and various wishes from the ‘wish production’ were implemented on site. A long bench with a view of the Elbe, a sports field with a basketball, temporary skate obstacles, paddling pools and waterways, a tea garden, a grove of trees and a barrier-free stage. The contact point (“Anlaufstelle”), which was open for all events and activities, gave us the opportunity to talk to interested parties, to close knowledge gaps and to collect and archive the test uses as well as further wishes and existing knowledge. In addition, there were a variety of workshops, discussions and walks on different topics around the waterfront of ‘St. Pauli Hafenkante’.
