Under the umbrella of the “Verborgene Potenziale Innenstadt – For a Vibrant and Resilient Hamburg City Centre” program package, the Ministry of Urban Development and Housing (BSW) will continue to drive forward the development of Hamburg’s inner city as part of the federal program “Sustainable Inner Cities and Centres”. The aim is to work with all stakeholders involved to strengthen the diversity of uses in order to support structural change in the city center and revitalize it sustainably.

“Verborgene Potenziale Innenstadt” is based on three pillars – a strategic, an organizational and a concrete level – within which different measures and projects are implemented.

Many of these projects are currently being implemented by external project partners or are in the preparation phase. These include a broad-based stakeholder dialog, an overarching communication strategy, a comprehensive co-creative participation process, mapping workshops, the design and implementation of pilot projects and the development of ‘prototypes of change’.

UVM supports the Office for Regional Planning Hamburg in the overall conception, coordination and communication of “Verborgene Potenziale Innenstadt” by acting as an interface to various stakeholders, measures and events.
